The position of a teacher (9 – 12) is a full-time, salaried, ten-month position.
Summary
The teacher at IDEA is expected to offer rigorous instruction to students in the subject area. The teacher's goals are to prepare students to succeed in college, the military, or a chosen career field after high school. In addition, science teachers should help equip our 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th graders with the social and work skills needed to be productive members of our society. Teachers typically support student youth development through effective classroom management, leadership of clubs or extracurricular activities, and informal mentoring.
Duties And Responsibilities
A Teacher at IDEA is responsible for
· creating curriculum for respective subject area,
· assessing students,
· modifying instruction in order to effectively address students' academic needs,
· following all guidelines outlined in the Faculty & Staff Handbook and the Personnel Policy Manual, and
· any other appropriate responsibilities as a professional staff member of IDEA.
Oversight & Evaluation
A Teacher reports to the Principal. The Teacher is evaluated by formal and informal evaluations and according to the performance rubric used for all instructional staff members.
Requirements:
Candidates must be Highly Qualified (according to OSSE standards) in subject area.
