[dcab-l] Free bass workshop

If you're going to the Wilmington Winter Bluegrass Festival (Wintergrass) this weekend, let me mention that I'll be giving a bass workshop on Saturday. (If you weren't planning on coming, change your mind! It's a great jamming festival only two hours from DC - I've been there every year since it started in 2008.)

I have given my workshop for the past five years, and every year the number of participants has increased. My course covers in a two hour period a little music theory (so students will understand the principles underlying the bass lines) followed by a detailed session covering beginner to intermediate bass lines and more advanced techniques such as slapping, harmonics, and soloing. The course provides a 20-page handout so that students can remember and practice what I've shown them if they want. The workshop is free with the purchase of a festival ticket.
