[YEP-DC] POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT – ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF COLLEGE PARTNER RELATIONS

About Center for Student Opportunity and I'm First 

Center for Student Opportunity (CSO), a 501(c)(3), is a national nonprofit empowering first-generation college students to and through college. Our work includes:

· Creating tools and developing resources to help first-generation college students

· Supporting schools, organizations and individuals who advise these students

· Partnering with four-year colleges and universities committed to serving and supporting these students

CSO's newest initiative, I'm First (www.imfirst.org), is an online community providing first-generation college students with support, advice and encouragement. The I'm First project collects personal stories from first-generation college graduates—and students who will be—to inspire and encourage the next generation of students who will be first. The site also features a college search, Q&A forum, student blog and others tools and resources to help aspiring first-generation college students on the road to and through college. 

The Position 

The Associate Director of College Partner Relations is responsible for day-to-day interaction with colleges and universities who partner with CSO to promote and improve their efforts on behalf of first-generation college students. An integral member of the College Partner team, the Associate Director of College Partner Relations will play a major role in client relations and business development efforts, from establishing initial contact with prospective partners to communicating with and supporting partners that have been with us for years. This role is based in the CSO office in Bethesda, Maryland.

Business Development/Marketing Activities 

• Identify and target prospective partners through strategic planning and execution

• Communicate with prospective partners including university leadership via both email and phone

• Schedule and lead meetings and appointments with prospective partners

• Prepare background material and market research in preparation for all partner meetings and appointments

• Support follow-up activities like finalizing partnership agreements and scheduling follow-up calls

• Maintain internal database to track key performance metrics and marketing activities

Account Management Activities 

• Develop relationships with primary points of contact and key decision makers

• Monitor and communicate partner interests and priorities to the CSO team

• Support efforts to provide partnership services, for example webinars and newsletters

• Secure partnership renewal contracts

• Develop and support effective strategies for maintaining visibility of services at partner institutions

Basic Qualifications: 

• Bachelor's Degree

• Excellent academic record

Must possess at least two of the following:

• Leadership experience

• Customer service experience

• Experience working in a team environment

• Experience in an office setting

Ideal Qualifications: 

• Proven ability to meet and exceed goals

• Ability to communicate by e-mail and phone with senior university leadership

• Proven experience managing multiple, competing priorities while working towards an established goal

• Ability to overcome challenges or obstacles in the moment

• Attention to detail

Preferred Skills: 

• Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel

• Strong research skills

• Facility with or willingness to learn GoToMeeting webinar technology

• Experience with or willingness to learn Salesforce

Hours: 

Full-Time (40 hours); general office hours are 9am-6pm, Monday through Friday

Compensation:

$35,000-$50,000, commensurate with experience
