CHILD TRENDS – EDUCATION RESEARCH ANALYST (QUANTITATIVE) Child Trends is a nonprofit, nonpartisan research center that studies children at all stages of development. Our mission is to improve outcomes for children by providing research, data, and analysis to the people and institutions whose decisions and actions affect children. General Description Working as part of the Education research team, the Research Analyst will be responsible for conducting assigned parts of research, evaluation, and analytical technical assistance projects that seek to improve education outcomes. The analyst will do the following: assist in the development of the research approach; oversee literature reviews; analyze data sets; report research findings orally and in writing; and prepare materials for training and technical assistance. Typical Responsibilities and Duties 1. Merge, clean, and manage large data sets 2. Analyze quantitative data using multiple methods and software (e.g., SAS, Stata, R) 3. Write research results in multiple formats for various audiences 4. Assist in writing proposals and preparing papers for publication 5. Develop surveys 6. Act as task leader in projects and supervise research assistants and support staff 7. Review and write critical summaries of research literature and/or public policy 8. Present results to clients, sponsors 9. Support development of technical assistance and training resources Qualifications · Master's degree or above in a social science with a quantitative emphasis · Content knowledge in the areas of education and, preferably, youth development · Proficiency with quantitative data collection and management · Proficiency with quantitative analysis, including descriptive statistics, multivariate analysis, longitudinal analysis. Experience with multilevel modeling preferred. · Ability to write code for in a statistical software program (e.g., SAS, Stata, R); · Knowledgeable about data management and security · Experience with large data sets preferred · Experience with analysis of qualitative information such as needs assessments or interviews · Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail · Excellent oral and written communication skills How to Apply Fill out the information below and click next to begin your application.
