EARLY CHILDHOOD DATA COLLECTORS - WASHINGTON DC METRO AREA
General Description:
School Readiness Consulting (SRC) is seeking data collectors to assist with several Early Childhood Education evaluation efforts throughout the school year with individual schools, education programs, school districts and states in the DC Metro area (Northern Virginia, Maryland, and DC).
SRC is looking for data collectors already trained or willing to be trained on CLASS® (Infant, Toddler, and PreK) and the Environmental Rating Scales (ERS: FCCERS, ECERS, and ITERS). We are especially interested in recruiting Spanish, French, Hebrew, and Mandarin Chinese speakers.
Most projects require that data collectors be available to be scheduled for at least three days a week, but this is dependent upon the offered work in each project. Schedules for observations are made at least two weeks in advance and data collectors are paid based upon the services they provide and not guaranteed work on their schedule.
Duties and Responsibilities:
▪ Be available up to three days a week to conduct observations that take place between 7:00am – 1:00pm.
▪ Complete post-observation work due within 48 hours of an observation that will include narrative writing.
▪ Participate in ongoing activities designed to maintain assessor reliability that may include individual time with project leadership, additional training on assessment tools, and additional field reliability testing.
▪ Attend monthly team meetings that will occur between 1:00pm and 3:00pm on a day to be decided.
▪ Pass fidelity checks that are conducted throughout the project that align with project-specific protocols.
Qualifications:
▪ B.A. degree plus some coursework in early childhood education and classroom experience is preferred.
▪ Must demonstrate punctuality, a commitment to teamwork, flexibility, and excellent communication skills.
▪ Obtain a current background check and clear TB test.
▪ Must have attained reliability on CLASS® or ERS (SRC provides training).
▪ In some instances, mandated reporter and/or Human Subjects training may be required.
▪ Reliable transportation is required. All DC sites are all accessible by Metrorail and/or Metrobus, but work in Northern Virginia and Maryland may require access to your own transportation. We do not compensate for transportation costs.
▪ Computer and internet access are required.
Salary:
▪ Observations will be compensated at per classroom rate based on the assessment or evaluation tool used. This rate includes travel time and expenses, a reminder call to the school the night before, online scoring, narrative writing, and returning hard copies.
▪ Monthly meetings (2 hours per month) will be reimbursed on a per hour basis.
▪ We do not offer benefits, leave compensation, or state/federal withholding on income.
▪ Participants will be expected to log activities into SRC invoicing system and will not be reimbursed reporting hours and time spent invoicing.
To Apply:
Please send relevant experience to jobs@schoolreadinessconsulting.com. Please indicate approximately how many mornings per week you would be available to conduct site visits.
