[dcab-l] Songs from the South: Sweet Georgia Brown

Music Lovers:

Here is another live cut from the Appalachian Jubilee, a syndicated

country music show from the Capitol Theater in Chambersburg, Pa.

This cut features Dan Cassidy on fiddle.  At the end of the evening,

the Jubilee house band invited Dan to join them on Sweet Georgia Brown.

Dan had already marveled the crowd with his Rattlesnake Hill

performance, and you can hear the audience excitement as they see him

take the stage with the house band, knowing something special is about to happen.

The 2nd soloist is house band guitarist Odie Palmer, who worked with

Patsy Kline, early in her career.

For those of you who remember Dan (Eva Cassidy's brother), he has

moved to Iceland, where he is playing with jazz bands, a "Hot Club"

gypsy-jazz band, and with European acts like Margriet Sjoerdsma

and James Hickman.  He also is a music educator and session musician.
