A Free Professional Development Event for DC-Area Teachers
Friday, March 13 — 8:30am to 1:30pm
DC Scholars Public Charter School
5601 E. Capitol St. SE; Washington, DC 20019
This workshop focuses on the critical resource of emotional constancy – the delicate art of controlling and tempering our emotions. In particular, participants in this session will learn how to model this trait for their students by:
- Understanding the impact of emotional constancy in creating a positive learning environment
- Identifying methods to maintain composure and self-control
- Practicing scenarios in which emotional constancy is vital to supporting our students
During this half-day professional development, participants will have the opportunity to see emotional constancy in action as they tour DC Scholars PCS, observe instruction, and meet with current elementary and early childhood teachers.
To register, please email learn@scholaracademies.org by Monday, March 9, 2015 with your name, your position for the 2014-2015 school year, your school's name, and your contact information.
