Lucketts Bluegrass will offer two bluegrass camps this summer at the Lucketts Community Center, 42361 Lucketts Road, Leesburg, VA 20176. These will be open to kids and adults of all skill levels, age 9 and above. Players can learn to play or improve their skills on their instruments as well as learn how to form and work in a band context. One goal of the band instruction will be to work up a few tunes for a show at the end of the week. Music reading and music theory are not required as pre-requisites, but students must each have their own acoustic instrument. Open to guitar, mandolin, fiddle, banjo, dobro, bass and vocals.
Camp dates are: June 24 through June 28 and July 8 through July 12, 10 AM until 2 PM each day. Instructors will be: Randy Barrett, Tara Linhardt and Alexander Mitchell, all of whom are professional musicians and skilled teachers.
The cost will be $300 per week.
