Trying is an honorable failure. Make sure you are DOING all you can everyday!

Life's too short to wake up in the morning with regrets, so..
Love the people who treat you right.
Forget about the ones who don't.
Believe that everything happens for a reason.
If you get a chance , TAKE IT!
If it changes your life , LET IT!
Nobody said it would be easy...
They just promised it would be worth it!

---------- Forwarded Message ----------
From: "Broadwater, Norma" <Norma.Broadwater@Washington.goethe.org>

Dear DC Bluegrass Union,

I wanted to reach out to you to let you know about a film and discussion we’re hosting here at the Goethe-Institut, the German cultural center, next Wednesday. We’re screening a documentary about the founder of Arhoolie Records, Chris Strachwitz. He’ll be in attendance for a discussion afterwards with Smithsonian Folkways’ Jeff Place. Chris’ influence on the world of roots music is legendary, and he is a very interesting person, as can be seen in the trailer for This Ain’t No Mouse Music!, which we’ve posted with our event announcement at http://www.goethe.de/ins/us/was/ver/en14225043v.htm.

It seems to me that there must be quite an audience in Washington who’d like to know about this rare opportunity to meet Chris and hear lots of great music in the film as well. And of course Jeff Place is also highly respected. I’d appreciate any help you might be able to provide in getting out the word.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

[dcab-l] attention pickers!

Calling for any and all folks who might like to compete in individual or band contests at the Loudoun Bluegrass Festival on Saturday May 9th! Email Tara if you want to pre-register or if you have any questions.

Also check out the workshops, led jam sessions, dance, and main stage acts for the quickly approaching Loudoun Bluegrass Festival. There is hopefully things there for many different interests- Irish, Old Time, Swing and Gypsy jazz, bluegrass, song writing, vocal, clogging, contests, etc.
As well as plenty of spaces inside and outside to make one's own jam sessions rain or shine. Bring a pickin chair and some instruments and have a fun day!

All just outside of Leesburg at the Loudoun County Fairgrounds (used to be called the 4-H Fairgrounds) on Saturday, May 9th.

Tickets are cheaper ahead of time off the website too, so might want to look into that idea too when you check out the schedules of Main stages and workshops.
