[YEP-DC] Professional Development: Universal Design for Learning (UDL)

The Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) is hosting two professional development sessions on Universal Design for Learning (UDL) for educators in the District of Columbia on December 6, 2013. Registration is required.

UDL is a research-based framework for designing curricula—that is, educational goals, methods, materials, and assessments—that enable all individuals to gain knowledge, skills, and enthusiasm for learning. This session will support teachers' efforts to meet the challenge of diversity by providing flexible instructional materials, techniques, and strategies that help teachers differentiate instruction to meet these varied needs using the Internet and multimedia. Participants will individualize teaching materials to make learning engaging and challenging for students with varied backgrounds, learning styles, abilities, and disabilities.

**Participants are required to bring a laptop computer.
