[YEP-DC] Federal Student Aid - Management and Program Analyst (Bilingual)


Check out this new opportunity to better serve Spanish speaking students and assist in the opportunity to increase federal student aid access to them via the FAFSA.

This position is located in the U.S. Department of Education, Federal Student Aid, Customer Experience Group, Student Experience Group, Applicant Products and Customer Service Division (APCSD).  The Applicant Products and Customer Service Division (APCSD) are accountable for the annual development of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and associated applicant products.  The FAFSA is used to determine a student's eligibility for Federal Student Aid.  The Applicant Products Team monitors policy, regulatory, and program changes that impact student aid eligibility, application/system development, and other channel activities.
 
Currently, over 20 million FAFSAs are filed annually with approximately ten percent of applicants utilizing the Spanish-language products.  To support the development and maintenance of the Spanish-language FAFSA-related applicant products, this position requires an individual who is a native Spanish speaker, fully bilingual in Spanish and English (oral and written), capable of accurately translating a variety of documents from English into Spanish and from Spanish into English, and who has experience informing the usability of Hispanic focused products and services. 
 
As a member of the team, the incumbent: 

  • Examines program issues, researching and recommending new techniques or approaches for accomplishing goals based on the needs of a specified audience.
  • Develops plans for studies/analyses and other control measures for evaluating the effectiveness of existing practices, procedures, policies and/or directives.
  • Monitors, analyzes and evaluates (on a quantitative or qualitative basis) the effectiveness of program operations/solutions (traditional approaches and/or new techniques) in meeting established goals and objectives.
  • Recommends solutions that address specific challenges (e.g.; diversity of audience, changing laws/regulations, accomplish greater economy and efficiency).
