Béla Fleck & Brooklyn Rider

Saturday, November 23 at 7pm
Sixth & I Historic Synagogue

Moving seamlessly between their diverse worlds, legendary banjo virtuoso Béla Fleck and the endlessly versatile string quartet Brooklyn Rider unveil a rich range of possibilities for this untapped combination. The program is anchored by Night Flight On Water, Béla's newly composed quintet for banjo and string quartet, as well as works from Brooklyn Rider's signature repertoire, solo music by Béla, and other collaborative surprises.

"A virtuoso of the banjo, Béla Fleck has been pushing the boundaries of his instrument for over 30 years." - The New York Times

"The young, adventurous string quartet is devoted to keeping the traditional quartet repertoire alive while dragging the form into this century's anything-goes postmodern world." - The Washington Post

Made possible by the Abramson Family Foundation and by an anonymous gift
