[YEP-DC] Please check out this job opportunity from one of our Conference Sponsors!!

Vida Charter School (Vida), a K-6 public charter school located in Gettysburg, Penn., is
seeking a creative and energetic new executive director.

Vida offers a holistic, bilingual, academic curriculum, and its vision is that students will
be:

• Above grade level in reading and math
• Bilingual and bi-literate in English and Spanish
• Compassionate towards others and their community
• Real world problem solvers
• Physically healthy

Vida's educational program primarily focuses on three pillars:
• Spanish / English Bilingual Education with the ultimate goal of becoming bilingual
and bi-literate.
• Holistic Approach with students encouraged to develop connections to the
community, to the natural world, and to humanitarian values.
• Healthy Lifestyles with students encouraged to make health decisions around
many areas of their lives.

Over its history, Vida has been well-managed and has retained the confidence and
support of its entire school community. Since opening in 2010, Vida has been led by
its founding school leader, April Yetsko, who worked tirelessly for three years prior to
the school's opening to obtain a charter. Although April will leave Vida Charter School
at the end of the current school year to lead a private international school in Venezuela,
because of her visionary and highly effective leadership, Vida is a remarkably stable
school, one that is well-positioned to transition to new leadership.

Vida offers prospective candidates the opportunity to lead an innovative and ambitious
school that enjoys strong support from parents, teachers, the board and the larger
school community. Clear priorities for the next executive director include maintaining
the strength and effectiveness of the academic program; respectfully, transparently and
effectively leading and building Vida's staff and board; and shepherding Vida through
its final stages of initial development. The new executive director will build and support
a multicultural community and serve as a powerful and effective public spokesperson to
broaden Vida's visibility, impact, effectiveness and reputation.
