Sitting in on banjo for a several gigs with Ed Scheaffer and Monte Montieth. About 10 years apart. Monte said "Tom's (the fiddle player) been talking you up, so you better be good..." I've enjoyed playing with both of these guys over the years. Dont play banjo too much anymore.
Being totally spellbound by the guitar playing of Leon Morris. He was playing with a bass player one night and was great.
Going from total disappointment when expecting to hear Dick Smith play, to total amazement when it turned out to be Mike Munford in his place. The band was Line Drive as I recall. First time I heard Mike. Dick was sitting in for a gig that Mike couldn't make on the first occasion I saw the band. Mike returned for the next show. Wow.
The Tiff was a great spot. No doubt like the Friendly before it.
Lets just make sure we find another place to call a bluegrass home and support it!

Tiffany Tavern Closes!
I have been informed by Nancy Herman of Tiffany's, that due to health issues, she has decided to close down after more than 30 years of great music in Old Town Alexandria, VA... Having played there myself in years past, I know the music, comaraderie and fun shall be missed!.. Bill Foster
