For those interested in education and the Hispanic community,
The White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanics have been hosting community action summits nationwide and we are coming to Northern Virginia on Saturday, June 9th. It is being held at the George Mason University - Arlington Campus (by the Virginia Square Metro) and it runs from 8:30a-4:00p. This nonpartisan forum allows community leaders to connect with each other and administration officials on the top issues such as education.

GOALS The focus of the Action Summit is to accomplish three key goals: 1. Establish a space where community leaders can meaningfully engage and interact with key decision and policy makers in the Obama Administration on matters involving diverse policy areas that affect the Hispanic community; 2. Identify policy and programmatic areas of concern, receive and respond to constructive criticism and feedback, and identify local success stories and practices in policy areas that benefit the Hispanic community and our nation; 3. Identify and develop opportunities for Hispanic leaders and stakeholders to collaborate with the Obama administration and other leaders from across the country in addressing the interests and concerns of the Hispanic community. | Who? Senior Obama Administration officials from diverse policy areas connecting with Community leaders, business owners, and other stakeholders to discuss issues critical to the Hispanic community, Virginia, and the nation. What? The White House Hispanic Community Action Summit is an innovative open space dialogue where participants work together to define the agenda and shape outcomes.
