[YEP-DC] Summer volunteer opportunity

Volunteer to help increase food access in your school's neighborhood.

Farmers' Market Brigade volunteers help distribute Produce Plus checks at all of the District's neighborhood farmers' markets. Through the Produce Plus program, DC residents who receive SNAP, WIC, Medicaid, TANF, Grocery Plus, or SSI can receive $10 per household/market/week to spend on fresh fruits and vegetables! Volunteers are a vital part of the program and are needed to distribute the checks at neighborhood farmers' markets during the 2016 season.

We are looking for individuals with an engaging energy and passion to share their positive experience at farmers' markets with everyone in the community. Volunteers must be 21+ years old to participate. Sign up for training and shifts at dcgreens.org/brigade. 

In our outreach at schools we've heard from school staff from teachers to security guards that they're interested in volunteering over the summer. We'd love your help in getting the word out to the people at your school that volunteers are needed. Especially at markets during the day, during the week in the summer!
