[YEP-DC] OPEN POSITION: Early Childhood Education Marketing/PR/Community Outreach

The position position is called "Analyst, Public Awareness," However, I am looking for someone with a combination of early childhood education and Marketing experience. Below is the official position description and the link where you can apply.

The Analyst, Public Awareness is responsible for coordinating and implementing Early Stages (ES) marketing communications projects with responsibilities that include public relations, special events management, advertising, and developing and maintaining brand awareness. This position is a safety-sensitive position. As a result, throughout employment this position will be subject to the Employee Mandatory Drug and Alcohol Testing Policy.

The Analyst, Public Awareness (Early Stages) will report to the Early Stages Operations Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The below statements are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed by this position. This is not a complete listing of all responsibilities, duties, and/or skills required. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Helps to coordinate Early Stages' strategy for generating referrals through citywide public awareness activities: designing/executing Early Stages' online strategy, identifying and attending events, writing content for online/public distribution and identifying regional publishing opportunities.
  • Helps to create content for and edits the Early Stages website.
  • Writes brief articles related to early intervention, developmental delays in young children, and other related topics and identify publication opportunities for them.
  • Drafts the quarterly Early Stages newsletter.
  • Helps to coordinate the reprinting and editing of Early Stages outreach materials, to include creating new or additional materials as needed to support the program.
  • Helps to create and identifies citywide events at which to represent Early Stages.
  • Identifies and supports other events appropriate for the child find team to attend.
  • Assists the Operations Manager with the execution of several small to medium size projects in order to meet organizational strategic goals.
  • Helps to coordinate and execute Early Stages' strategy for using social media to support child find efforts.
  • Designs and helps to implement an Early Stages Stakeholder Survey.
  • Works under extremely tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment with multiple responsibilities.
  • Supports the center's Child Find team with responding to referrals and conducting developmental screenings as needed.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and one to three years of related work experience.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Previous exposure to or experience in the education sector a plus.
  • Experience writing and editing for a publication, excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience using a variety of web based platforms to develop and manage websites.
  • Experience and commitment to using data to make decisions and assess performance.
  • Experience building and maintaining professional relationships.
  • Experience with social media in a professional context.
  • Proficiency with Abode InDesign and Acrobat; Microsoft Publisher, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Drupal, and Wordpress.
  • Self-direction and a strong proactive mindset about determining tasks and priorities.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
