You're invited to a Christmas Bluegrass Jamboree!!
The Luckett's Community Center will host the annual Luckett's Bluegrass Christmas Jamboree on Saturday December 19th. Santa Claus will be making a special appearance and many of Luckett's Popular performers will mix and match their talents to perform the Bluegrass favorites you know and love along with many Christmas favorites as well.
The Jamboree is made up by Jay Armsworthy-guitar and vocals, John Brunswyler-banjo, Keith Dill-fiddle, Tom Gray-Bass, Tara Lindhardt-mandolin, and Tom Mindte-mandolin & vocals.
From California, Maryland, Armsworthy normally performs with his traditional Bluegrass group, Jay Armsworthy & Eastern Tradition through the tri state area. Mindte plays mandolin and makes his home in Rockville, Maryland which is also the home of his own rising record label, Patuxent Records. He is also the leader and mandolin player with the Patuxent Partners as well as the Christmas Jamboree's banjo player, John Brunswhyler. Multi-instrumentalist, Dill plays with the West Virginia band, Patent Pending. His Appalachian old-time fiddling adds the right touch to the Christmas Jamboree. Lindhardt has taken first place in many contests and can be seen working regularly in duets, trios, and full bands in bluegrass, old time, Irish, and Swing jazz styles of music. She play's mandolin and will be dressed in a pretty Christmas bow! Joining the Jamboree Band for the first time is the famous, Tom Gray, on bass. Gray is known as the original member of the Classic Country Gentlemen and founding member of the Seldom Scene. Gray has played with many, many bands throughout the world. He will be a great asset to the program.
It will be a fun evening of music, laughter, and many surprises. You just never know what this group will come up with in their family style performance!
The show begins at 7:00 pm with the doors opening at 6:00. The Luckett's Community Center is a smoke and alcohol free environment. Sandwiches, snacks and drinks are available for sale.
