The Eric Byrd Trio (pianist/vocalist Eric Byrd, bassist Bhagwan Khalsa, and drummer Alphonso Young, Jr.) was named Kennedy Center/U.S. State Department Jazz Ambassadors, bringing American jazz around the world. They have played with musicians including Charlie Byrd, Wynton Marsalis, Jon Secada and more. Rooted in swing and be-bop, The Trio also embraces gospel and the blues as core elements of their expansive performance style.

Clawhammer banjo player Allison de Groot combines wide ranging virtuosity and passion for old-time music. Stash Wyslouch is one of bluegrass' great young genre-bending pioneers.

The Kruger Brothers (Jens Kruger on banjo, Uwe Kruger on guitar and vocals, and Joel Landsberg on bass) personify the spirit of innovation at the core of American musical tradition, arising from bluegrass but building on jazz or classical themes and techniques. The Kruger Brothers regularly perform with symphony orchestras and string quartets around the world.

Jens Kruger is a member of the Blue Ridge Music Hall of Fame, and is a recipient of the Steve Martin Prize for Excellence in Banjo and Bluegrass Music, named 2014 Banjo Instrumentalist of the Year by the International Bluegrass Music Association, and is a 2016 nominee for the same award.

Old-Time Workshop with Bruce Molsky's Mountain Drifters
Saturday, March 4 from 1-3 PM
at McDaniel College, Westminster, MD
Participants will have the opportunity to play with America's premier old-time fiddler, Bruce Molsky, as well as clawhammer banjo player Allison de Groot and guitarist Stash Wyslouch. Participants will be divided into small groups to learn some tunes, and then join back together to play as a group.
