For bluegrass lovers who are subscribers to the Wash Post, there is a great photo in today's Arts & Style section (p E8/9) showing some DC area pickers at the 2001 National Book Festival. Tom Gray, Randy Barrett, Tom McLaughlin, and (I think) Tom Lyons. I can't find an online photo, so save your print copies and send them to our friends.
