Songwriters & Music Lovers:
This Larry Cordel / Jim Rushing song describes, unfortunately, how doing wrong
ends with trouble; especially when it involves your “main squeeze”. Good song, I
love singing it, it’s bluesy, and it’s popular with the crowds.
Cordel and his compatriot Glen Duncan received a Grammy nomination for the
group's debut album, self-titled, in 1992. This song is among 12 others on that CD.
The “Possum”, George Jones, has covered this song with Rick Scaggs in a duet on
the Possum’s CD: My Very Special Guests (Legacy Edition).
This Rattlesnake Hill version was performed at Cactus Flats Restaurant, just north of
Fredrick, Md. Line up:
John David Bruce Banjo (Roscoe)
Barb Diederich Bass
Ed Schaeffer Lead Vocal & Guitar
Tom McLaughlin Mandolin
