[dcab-l] Original Song with Seldom Scene Pickers

Music Lovers:

Another cut to brighten your day!   This song is another of my originals called  "Country Pickin",

and includes the same Seldom Scene pickers as recent cuts:

Willie Oldes                          Bass

Freddie Travers                    Dobro

Phil Rosenthal                      Mandolin and Lead Guitar

Ben Eldridge                        Banjo

Carl Nelson                          Fiddle

Lou Reid                              Harmony

"Country Pickin" has a reference to the last line in Tom T Hall's famous song: "The Day Clayton

Delaney Died".   Here is Tom T's last line:

"But it could be that the Good Lord likes a little pickin' too"

In "Country Pickin", the last line (verse) sort of confirms that hope:

"As we share in the Spirit, pay the Lord His due

The Good Lord, He likes Country Pickin' too!"

You might find it interesting to listen to Tom T. Hall's live rendition of "Clayton Delaney", with

background information (!), at the URL below.   Also, note his ad-hoc spoken comment, to the

show's host, at song end:

Allow me to mention:  I always enjoyed hearing Jim Burkey's version of "Clayton Delaney" at

the DCBU jams in Takoma Park.  He always sang great country songs, and his rendition always

had a hold on me.

As always, headphones are preferred.  Click to listen to this original:
