You must bring a photo ID in order to enter the Department as a guest for the briefing.  The Department is located at 400 Maryland Avenue, S.W., across Independence Avenue from the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum. The building is bordered by 4th and 6th Streets, S.W., as well as C Street and Independence Avenue.  Guests should enter via the Visitors' Entrance on C St., East end. There is metered parking near the building.  The nearest Metro station is L'Enfant Plaza. Exit at 7th Street and Maryland Avenue.

HR Generalist, Full-time

One of the DC Public Charter School Board's highest strategic priorities is talent: to recruit, develop, manage, support, and retain a diverse, high-performing staff that fulfills PCSB's mission. The Human Resource Generalist plays a critical role by building and managing effective HR systems while providing outstanding HR customer service to leaders and staff in our office. The HR Generalist reports to the Director of Human Capital and Strategic Initiatives and partners closely with PCSB's Finance and Operations Department and Legal Department. The Human Resource Generalist will prove successful if staff has an understanding of the PCSB policies and benefits and continue to guarantee that our policies and benefits match our values and support staff in doing their best work for DC charter schools and students. The ideal candidate for this role will have a deep understanding of HR systems and procedures, experience navigating employee-relations issues, and enthusiasm for initiatives that will increase the success and sustainability of PCSB's hard-working staff. 


Equity and Fidelity Specialist, Part-Time
The Equity and Fidelity Specialist is responsible for responding to and resolving conflicts that arise between a charter school and charter school parents. The ideal candidate would be able to see both sides of an issue, communicate well with multiple stakeholders, and use expert judgment to help resolve a conflict or escalate the issue.  The Equity and Fidelity Specialist will balance helping schools by communicating the need to develop systems for conflict resolution and helping families understand the role and responsibilities of the school. The Equity and Fidelity Specialist serves on the team that ensures that schools are serving students with equity; operating their school under compliance to applicable law and fidelity to their charter; and accurately submitting data.  This role reports to the Manager of Equity and Fidelity.

Position Overview

The Office of the Chief of Schools (COS) is responsible for managing school performance for all schools across the District of Columbia with the goal of increasing the academic achievement of over 46,500 students. COS provides leadership to school leaders and teachers to help them achieve academic excellence in their schools and ensures that our students are college and career ready in an environment that is safe, healthy, and engaging. We also support our lowest performing schools through targeted programs and partnerships to address their needs.

The Assistant, Chief of Schools is responsible for providing administrative and operational support to the Chief of Schools. The Assistant will also support the Chief of Staff in driving office-wide strategic initiatives on enhancing organizational culture, improving cross-functional collaboration, and creating clear processes and procedures to ensure that COS is operating effectively. The Assistant, Chief of Schools has a unique opportunity to work with an expanding team dedicated to making system-wide improvements.

The Assistant, Chief of Schools will report to the Chief of Schools, Office of the Chief of Schools.
