[YEP-DC] Internship - Leadership For Educational Equity

Duration: This is a ~10 hour a week, 12 month appointment, beginning immediately.
 
Position Summary
 
Leadership for Educational Equity (LEE) seeks a bright, self-starting administrative intern to support our Washington, DC  Regional Director. S/he will serve on LEE's Regional Strategy Team, which works in communities across the nation to grow the leadership of our members and help build the movement for educational equity. 
Reporting to both the DC Regional Director, the successful candidate will work part-time and carry out a variety of tasks in support of LEE's DC Regional Director, including – but not limited to – data management and analysis, event planning and regional communications. 
 
Responsibilities
  • Executing administrative tasks on behalf of the Regional Director Tasks may include(90% of your time): 
  • Updating Leadership for Educational Equity's data management system 
  • Supporting the Regional Director with regional communications 
  • Assisting the Regional Director with event scheduling and support 
  • Growth opportunities to support the Regional Director with regional research (10% of your time)
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Regional Director 
Experience
  • Bachelor's degree required 
  • Exceptional organization and project management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Deep alignment and understanding of LEE's mission and core values

Salary for this position is competitive and depends on prior experience.  In addition, a comprehensive benefits package is included.

[dcab-l] Jimmy Gaudreau & Moondi Klein

FIREWORKS were in absolute abundance Saturday (May 31st) night at the Weekend Bluegrass Concert Series. First, we had Jimmy Gaudreau & Moondi Klein doing what they do best - pick, sing and entertain.  A great night of music with super instrumentals, vocal harmony and lots of fun as well.  Many THANKS to Jimmy & Moondi for another super show and for their continuing support of our concert series.  These two gents were the first artists in the Weekend Bluegrass Concert Series and have been coming back annually since -- that's been about 12 years now!!  Many thanks also to all the folks who joined us for this event for your enthusiasm and your continuning  support too.  Oh yeah, SECOND, everyone had a front row seat in our parking lot for the huge fireworks display put on by the Town of Herndon as part of the Herndon Festival.  A great night in all respects !!

[YEP-DC] Job Posting: Join Options Public Charter School's New Team!

New Focus, New Leadership

Options PCS was founded in 1996 with the mission of providing a high quality, unique educational experience for all students, including those students most at risk of dropping out because they need additional social and academic support or have exceptionalities requiring intensive special education services.

In Fall 2014, Options PCS will re-open under the leadership of a new management team that is committed to maintaining rigor and accountability in school operations, while also providing rich support services and targeted academic interventions for all students. In 2014-2015 Options PCS will serve a smaller student population of approximately 250 students to ensure that all students receive the services and support they require in a nurturing and engaging environment.  

Options Public Charter School is currently seeking candidates to join it's new team. Current openings include teaching, counseling, administrators, and support staff roles, for the 2014-15.
