I agree that we need to spread the good word about this brand new venue. It's got huge potential if we help raise awareness---the last thing we want to hear is this place is closing and folks saying they never even knew it was there! There is a ton of free parking, great food, music-loving owners who are in it for the right reasons, etc. Let's help everyone know about this new local gem.
I've been to two of the DCBU Feb fest shows so far (1 each weekend), both really well attended, with a fun and lively crowd. But with that said, I do wonder about the wisdom of making every night, every weekend for the month-long festival. On the one hand, it may very well have helped raise awareness that Earp's is open and ready for business. On the other hand, even at the reasonable prices, I can only go to so many shows in a given week, so we are picking and choosing which ones appeal the most to us, and not attending all weekend like a true festival. Not at all critical of the thought process, just suggesting that all these shows are pulling from the same pool of people, and we just don't have a bottomless entertainment budget.
I do hope they keep the bluegrass momentum going. Regular, at least monthly shows, perhaps a regular bluegrass jam, to help get folks in the door. The DeMarcos are just figuring this all out and I think are open to ideas on how to make fun and engaging entertainment that helps the venue thrive.
Thanks for all you are doing to get this relationship off to a great start!
