I can't believe I'm weighing in on this but I gotta say it...one of the sure-fire ways for a venue/show to become unsuccessful is to start telling people it is. It's a weird human nature mind thing that happens. Create the buzz that magic is happening there (which I'm sure it is... especially after last night!)
Just my .02 cents...

Week 2 of the DCBU FebFest at Earps Ordinary was super on stage: Old Town Tradition (a VA band) early and Shannon Leigh and the GoodbyGones (Md band) put on a great show. Both are to be congratulated.
But the house was about 1/2 full (my non official estimate: 75 folks). Many folks left after the first set. When a 'show of hands' conveyed that no-one left was from MD,- yup nobody- it was concerning.
With the following events a worthy hall pass-
Tomorrows Robeson fundraiser (Get Tix info here); Ok, we understand (but show up next week!)
Nothing Fancy show on Thursday
That Anthem show (which might not be worthy of a hall pass)
Were those the reasons?
Perhaps you'd share your take with a response.
Earps went through an extended remodeling and is looking to support acoustic music. Thats why DCBU tried to help out.
Please weigh in!
