[dcab-l] Honeysuckle (Duet) at Appalachian Jubilee: "The Sweetest Song I Sing"

Here is a cover of The Sweetest Song I Sing from Hot Rize on their 1981 Rounder Records

album Radio Boogie.  This cut was recorded live at the Appalachian Jubilee at the Capital

Theater in Chambersburg, Pa.

 

Carol Hausner, my singing partner in Honeysuckle, was another of those Takoma Park, Md.

musicians I was fortunate enough to meet at the old "Sligo Creek Sunday Jam", early 1980s.

I remember the WAMU jam advertisement, always with the notation: "at Kennebec Avenue". 

 

I always seemed to end up singing with Carol, both at the jams, and practices. And, at the

Appalachian Jubilee!  Carol also won 1st place at the 2009 MerleFest Songwriting Contest.
