Songwriters & Music Lovers:
Here’s a live recording from a Rattlesnake Hill performance at Cactus Flats near
Frederick, Md.
"Temperance Reel" is widely disseminated throughout Australia, Ireland, Great
Britain and North America under either "Temperance Reel" or "Teetotaler's Reel"
titles, and dates to the 19th century. North American musicians prefer the
Temperance name, but it appears to have an Irish provenance.
Through the years, the tune has a long history of recordings using various names.
Rattlesnake Hill Musicians:
Barb Diederich Bassist Extraordinaire
John Brunschwyler Banjo
Garrett Wren Mandolin
Ed Schaeffer Guitar
