[dcab-l] Sat 6/29, Smithsonian Festival details

Hey Jammers,
More info on Saturday's DCBU jam. I strongly urge you to take Metro. The site is right next to the Smithsonian Metro station.
Please bring a water bottle, a hat, and sun screen.
Please DO NOT bring songbooks, sheet music, tablets, phones, and other visual aids. Bluegrassers communicate during jams and performances by looking at each other and you can't do that if you're focused on printed lyrics.

WHEN
·         A reminder that our event is open to the public from 12 noon to 5pm. We have the DC Bluegrass Union jam scheduled for 2-4pm. We will have a table out for you--on which you can share information about DCBU. You are welcome to table your info from 12 noon on. We recommend that you arrive no later than 1:30.

WHERE
·         You will be set up in the triangular tree panel on the National Mall--near the Metro exit (Smithsonian, orange/blue line) and across from the Freer Museum. We will have a bunch of chairs, benches, stools available for the jam. We'll organize these in a circle to mark the spot--and of course you are welcome to re-arrange this when you arrive.

MISC
·         We will not be providing bottled water—but I promise you that we will make sure everyone stays safe and hydrated. We have huge filtered water dispensers on site—and we ask that people bring their own re-usable bottles if they have them. But again, we will make sure you have water at your station--regardless. So don’t worry!

·         Check out the info we have posted online about our event. Please share it with your networks! And let us know if there is any info that needs to be revised.https://festival.si.edu/schedule?trumbaEmbed=view%3Devent%26eventid%3D133093767
