I'd say Fox on the Run by the Country Gentlemen. It started here, then took over the bluegrass world.

I want to pick the collective brain of this group. In the days before radio was clearchannelized (yes a verb) something called a regional or local hit was a common thing. I am assembling a list of greater DC area regional hits - all genders. I only have a few countryish tunes in the list and want to know of others. I have Jimmy Dean Bumming Around and Seldom Scene City of New Orleans. I cannot tell if Claude Jones Sykesville was ever actually released in its early days. Roslyn Mountain Boys, Hangmen, Lawrence and the Arabians, you get the idea. Any songs pop up?
