[YEP-DC] New YEP-DC Blog Post: Secret Sauce of Successful School - Afterschool Partnerships

As community-school partnerships grow, schools need to ensure that they are providing students with the best possible services from initiating the partnership to delivery of services. Three expert panelists, from Cesar Chavez PCSHigher Achievement, and Reading Partners, spoke to their experiences and best practices at a recent panel held by YEP-DC. How do successful schools and their partners help students also succeed? In a guest blogger post recapping the panel, the second in this series, Usha Chidamber explores the key elements of success of these partnerships. Read it all on Recess!

[YEP-DC] Call for Facilitators for YEP-DC's Policy-to-Practice Conference

We are excited to announce "Our City as a Learning Lab for Urban Education Reform," Young Education Professionals-DC's fourth annual Policy to Practice Conference. The Conference will be held on Saturday March 19, 2016 from 8:00AM - 4:30PM at Cardozo Education Campus in Washington, DC.

We are looking for education professionals to engage participants in 75-minute sessions on issues endemic to urban education. Facilitators should approach topics at the classroom, school, and system level with an analytical lens, sharing strategies as well as measurable outcomes from initiatives.

Please help us spread the word that we are now accepting applications to be a facilitator at YEP-DC's fourth annual Policy to Practice Conference, Our City as a Learning Lab for Urban Education Reform. Applications can be submitted by visiting www.tinyurl.com/YEPDC2016.

Share this information with colleagues who inspire you - or apply to be a facilitator yourself! All applications should be submitted by January 22, 2016.

If you have any questions, please contact the Conference Committee at yep.dc.conference@gmail.com.

Thank you for your help in making our Conference a success!
