[YEP-DC] Dept. of Ed Hearing on Sept. 12 - Looking for testimony/attendees

Hi, all. My name is Justin Yeater and I work for Young Invincibles a nonprofit advocacy and policy organization that works on economic opportunity issues for young adults.

Wanted to flag an interesting opportunity for everyone. On Sept. 12 the Department of Education is having a hearing on President Obama's proposed college rating system. If anyone is interested, we'd love for you to draft some testimony about what it means for you and go to the hearing.

Some useful context from Tom, our Policy and Research Manager:

Also useful would be what students and young people value most in a college education. Is it just money and jobs (cool if it is) or are there other factors at play? (Are there unique things about their school experience that might not play out in statistics?)

to be more direct:  if they were to give their school or potential schools a report card, what categories would the schools be graded on? And how would they like the report card to be used?

Thanks, everyone. Feel free to forward the information to any college students in your networks who might be interested. Let me know if you have any questions!

Take care,

Justin
