DC Bluegrass Festival The DC Bluegrass Festival is on Saturday, March 28th. The all-day event features performances on stage and open jamming throughout. The location is The Falls Church Episcopal, 115 E. Fairfax Street, Falls Church VA 22046. It's a great venue for music and fully accessible.

This year DCBU presents 7-time IBMA award winner, Claire Lynch; IBMA Momentum Award winner Man About a Horse; and The Gina Furtado Project. Each band will perform an afternoon set and an evening set, so plan to come and spend the whole day, starting with the Band Contest at noon. It's all for just $30 in advance or $35 at the door. Ticket sales are now open at Eventbrite.

2020 Mid-Atlantic Bluegrass Band CompetitionThe Mid-Atlantic Bluegrass Band Contest for 2020 will take place at 12 noon on Saturday, March 28th to kick off the festival. Now in its 9th year, the contest offers a showcase for local and regional bands, and awards the following prizes: First prize - $800, a 30-min set to start the festival performances, and a date to be arranged with the Lucketts Bluegrass Series to perform at the historic Old Schoolhouse in Lucketts, VA; Second prize - $500; Third prize - $300.

Volunteer Opportunities at the Festival

Support DCBU and this year's festival as a volunteer! There are numerous roles that volunteers can fill on the day of the festival, and we depend on your help to make it a success. Instructors Coming to the DCBU Camp

The DCBU Bluegrass and Old-time Camp this summer brings you two very talented bands as instructors in residence: Grammy-nominated Che Apalache and The Lonesome Ace String Band, along with banjo master Tony Ellis. The dates are July 5-10, corresponding to Traditions Week II for Common Ground on the Hill, held each year on the campus of McDaniel College in Westminster, MD. Classes are offered for every level of ability, so plan to come and enjoy instruction, jamming, evening concerts, and more.
