Friends of Christmas Present:
Here's a Christmas song, from a live performance by the ”All Mixed Up” band:
Barry Wendell Rhythm Guitar and Vocals (bella voce)
Ed Schaeffer Martin Guitar and Harmony
Greg Nelson Bass
The song was first recorded by Doye O'Dell in 1948, and was popularized the
following year in three separate recordings: one by country artist Ernest Tubb,
one by musical conductor and arranger Hugo Winterhalter and his Orchestra
and Chorus, and one by bandleader Russ Morgan and his Orchestra.
Other recordings: Billy Eckstine, The Beach Boys, the Browns, Damian McGinty
(from Glee).
However, Elvis Presley cemented the status of "Blue Christmas" as a rock-and-
roll holiday classic by recording it for his 1957 LP Elvis' Christmas Album.
And, in 2008, a duet of the song by Elvis Presley and Martina McBride was
featured on the album Christmas Duets and reached #36 on the US Country
Chart.
In this version, after Barry actually begins playing, you can hear me apply my
capo to the Martin… To listen, click below:

Enjoy, and Happy Holidays!
