[dcab-l] PLEASE READ THIS

Dear greater DC Bluegrass Community,

For the past 12 years I have worked to support and grow our music as president of the DC Bluegrass Union. We come from all walks of life and different religious, socioeconomic and political backgrounds. What binds us is a love for bluegrass -- and along the way we've become friends and part of something bigger than ourselves. I'm asking you now to support one of our own, Eileen Carson, who is battling pancreatic cancer. I don't need to tell you how serious this is.

As you have hopefully heard by now, we are holding a benefit concert for Eileen on Sunday, Sept. 16 at The Hamilton. As of today, we have sold ... 58 tickets. THE ROOM HOLDS 400. So rather than think "it's too far," or "my water pump might be out," or "maybe," I need you to buy advance tickets to this show. In addition to helping Eileen financially, it's going to be a fantastic night of music and dance at one of DC's nicest venues -- and it starts early at 6:30pm.
