Georgetown University's Department of Performing Arts, The Racial Justice Institute, The African-American Studies Department and The American Studies Program welcome Jake Blount for an artist residency, including a masterclass and concert.

6:00–7:30 Masterclass (90 minutes): Gonda Theater, Georgetown University

THURSDAY, 9/21

3:00–4:30 Artist Talk: "Inherited Black Futures: Shaping Tomorrow Through Ancestral Craft": Gonda Theater, Georgetown University

7:30–8:45 Concert: Gonda Theater, Georgetown University (reception in the lobby to follow)

[dcab-l] DCBU/"Archie's Barbershop" Bluegrass Jam in Hyattsville, MD

The next DC Bluegrass Union "Archie's Barbershop" Jam will be Monday, September 18, from 7:00-10:00 PM, at:

        The Archie Edwards Blues Heritage Foundation ("Archie's Barbershop")
        4502 Hamilton St, Hyattsville, MD, just half a block off of Baltimore Ave. (Rt. 1)

The jams are on the first and third Monday of each month. A small donation is requested but not required (about $4, less if you're hurting, more if you've got it to spare). This is not a bar so it's BYOB.
