DCBluegrass Union is pulling a crowd from both ends of the Parkway for an evefnt to celebrate- DCBU's Birthday Bash Celebrating Tom Gray and Carroll Swam. Its a FREE event. 

Its happening, and its going to be great, but will be SO much better if everybody joins the party.

[dcab-l] DCBU/"Archie's Barbershop" Bluegrass Jam in Hyattsville, MD

The next DC Bluegrass Union "Archie's Barbershop" Jam will be Monday, January 16, from 7:00-10:00 PM, at:

        The Archie Edwards Blues Heritage Foundation ("Archie's Barbershop")
        4502 Hamilton St, Hyattsville, MD, just half a block off of Baltimore Ave. (Rt. 1)

The jams are on the first and third Monday of each month. A small donation is requested but not required (about $4, less if you're hurting, more if you've got it to spare). All attendees must present proof of vaccination. This is not a bar so it's BYOB.

[dcab-l] Rolling out another cool Bluegrass Birthday Bash!

Join the festivities as DC Bluegrass Union gathers folks from the Baltimore and DC to honor Tom Gray and Carroll Swam with an epic Bluegrass Birthday Bash on Saturday, February 11th at American Legion 276 in Severn Md. 

Its a FREE event with Jamming starting at 4:30 and a Stage featuring Billy Harrison and the Haywire Band at 7 PM. Food and drinks will be available for purchase. 

Tom and Carroll reflect the heart and soul of bluegrass community at each end of the Parkway: Carroll has been making great music with Bluestone for over 40 years and Tom remains a cornerstone of the DC bluegrass scene. 

We are planning for a special event in every regard, including the special guests that will be joining Billy Harrison on stage. We're working on a surprise guest or two as well.

[dcab-l] Hey folks, DCBU is lining up a some great events that you dont want to miss....

But before that, Songwriters out there have ONE MORE DAY to get in on the 2023 Hazel Dickens Songwriting Contest, so if you have 'em, head on over to www.dcbu.org and sign up pronto. 

$800 in cash prizes for the top 3 winners, as awarded by independent judges. New material is vital to the longevity of the music we love, and this is one way to have your efforts recognized. 

OK, so our plans... Circle these Dates-

Saturday February 11th- a monumental party that well tell you about after the contest closes...

Tuesday, March 7- Open stage for local bands, with video service, compliments of DCBU. Strut your stuff and go home with a sweet sounding video. Bands/trios/duo's/solos- no matter. You're welcome as a group or help out the host band. 

Got merch? bring it along!
