Join us at 8 PM on Wednesday, August 10th, for this on-line discussion via Zoom, which serves to kick off DCBU's Mike Auldridge Instrumental Composition Contest for 2022. We'll reflect on his nuanced musical style, his distinctive sound, and his influential legacy over years of performing, recording, and always striving to perfect his art.
If there were a Mount Rushmore of resonator guitarists, Mike would certainly be included. Our instrumental contest in his memory honors him as a legendary DC-area musician who left an indelible stamp on bluegrass. Who could offer more than our four guests in sharing the way they experienced Mike and his music, and learned from it? Hearing their perspectives will be a treat not just for the reso crowd, but for everyone.
