This year marks The 30^th anniversary of the l'il margaret's Bluegrass & Old Time Music Festival

August 9^th, 10^th, & 11^th , 2018

at one of Southern Maryland's Little Treasures, the Goddard Farm in Leonardtown MD.

With hundreds of electric and water hookups, bring your RV and enjoy 3 days of the best traditional Bluegrass music on the circuit.

Returning this year will be the Feinberg Brothers, Mickey Galyean & Cullens' Bridge, and David Parmley & Cardinal Tradition

New this year will be David Peterson & 1946, The Larry Stephenson Band, and Joe Mullins & the Radio Ramblers

Also enjoy the family group Williamson Branch, the Farm Hands, and Ralph Stanley II & the Clinch Mountain Boys

plus local favorites, The California Ramblers, 15 Strings, and Cousin's In Harmony.

There will also be a rare performance tribute to the Bluegrass Cardinals featuring David Parmley and Larry Stephenson.

Enjoy the same home cooked food prepared by the Goddards in the Bluegrass Kitchen, including ice cream, and non alcoholic beverages.

[dcab-l] Gospel Folk Song: Old Time Religion

Music Lovers & Songwriters:

(Give Me That) "Old-Time Religion" is a traditional Gospel song, maybe going back to

English folk origins. This live cut is from a Rattlesnake Hill gig at Cactus Flats.

Charles Davis Tillman heard it sung by African-Americans at a camp meeting in

Lexington, South Carolina in 1889; it has become a standard in many Protestant

hymnals. I learned it as a boy at the Pine Forge Chapel, in Pine Forge, Pa. Rattlesnake

Hill itself is seen directly in back of the chapel as it begins climbing to the heavens.

[dcab-l] 2005 Weber Bitterroot Mandolin 4 Sale

Hi All,

I have a 2005 Weber Bitterroot mandolin I need to sell. The mandolin is a excellent shape and is a player.

It was recently setup by Richie Dotson at Acoustic Box in Chesterfield, Va. I am asking $2100 cash for local sale and

can email more pictures to interested parties. This has been my go to instrument but I need to sell it.

[dcab-l] Plan for Smithsonian jam tomorrow

Plan for Smithsonian jam tomorrow: I will be at the festival all day wit NO internet access. Current forecasts call for storms early, then light rain in the afternoon. The area is covered, so if it is just rain at 4 PM the jam will happen.

**From the Festival web site: "In case of a severe rainstorm, visitors should go inside a museum during visiting hours. Summer rainstorms are usually brief, and often the Festival resumes operations within an hour or two. In the event of a thunderstorm, the Festival must close. Do not remain under a tent or a tree!."

[dcab-l] SIDELINE - Juine 29, 2018

ABSOLUTELY TOTALLY AWESOME !!! These are the only words that come to mind to describe the SIDELINE concert this past Friday (June 29th) in the Weekend Bluegrass Concert Series in Herndon, Virginia. SIDELINE has morphed into a six piece band and they are so 'tight' in their musicality that even WD40 max strength couldn't loosen them even a smidge. Their vocal arrangements are just stellar and their steam roller instrumentals have to be experienced to be believed. The founding fathers (to be Fourth of July-ish -lol) are Steve Dilling (banjo), Jason Moore (upright bass) and Skip Cherryholmes (guitar). In addition to those three outstanding talents SIDELINE now features the likes of Bailey Coe (guitar), Troy Boone (mandolin) and Daniel Greeson (fiddle). These fine folks are not only great musicians but they are a fun loving bunch and a joy to be around. Catch them every time you can as you'll be blown away by their music and their humor. Many thanks to SIDELINE and to our patrons for an unforgettable night of entertainment at its very best.
