[dcab-l] Bud's Collective live at Drum & Strum this Friday, September 29th

We are pleased to welcome Bud's Collective back to the Listening Room at Drum & Strum. A powerful group of pickers from the hills of West Virginia featuring Buddy Dunlap on guitar, Cody Brown on bass, and Jack Dunlap on mandolin, Bud's Collective will lead listeners through an evening of bluegrass music at its best with picking, singing, fiery instrumentals, and everything in between. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Seating is limited and advance purchase is recommended. Children 12 and under admitted free with parent. Doors open at 7:30 and the concert will begin at 8 pm.

[dcab-l] Sunday jam in Brunswick

This Sunday, the 24th, is fourth Sunday. We have our regular jam at Beans in the Belfry, 122 W Potomac St, Brunswick, MD, tomorrow from 3- 6 PM. If you haven't attended before, Beans is a great coffee shop housed in a 117 year-old church. There's no cover but they do serve up a nice choice of light fare and a huge selection of beverages including adult. Format is open circle and there is seating. All level of players are welcome. [dcab-l] The Farm Hands Quartet

STUNNING is the word that first crosses my mind about the concert by the FARM HANDS QUARTET (http://www.farmhandsquartet.com) at the Weekend Bluegrass Concert Series in Herndon, Virginia last night. SPOT-ON also comes to mind amid a myriad of other glowing terms. Not only was the music stellar but the band's involvement with their audience was magical, and, oh yeah the humor abounded. You really have to experience their music 'in person' to believe it. Great musicians and great people - a combination you can't beat. Many, many thanks to Daryl Mosley, Tim Graves, Keith Tew and Don Hill for a magnificent night of music and fun. Many thanks also to our patrons for their continuing support of the Weekend Bluegrass Concert Series.

The weather looks GREAT for a porch jam on Sunday night at the
Sterling Golf Club.

NOTE: 5 PM start time, ~ 8 PM end time.

Food is available through the bar, from Joe's Restaurant!

ALCOHOL must still be served through the bar, per ABC private club
rules. You may bring wine or spirits to be served. Beer is on tap and in cans.
Expect the bar service to close at 7 PM.

FAIR WARNING: It's a bar environment, with all that entails. It's fun
to play there, if you are inclined toward that.

OPEN FORMAT: This is a FUN, very informal jam. We encourage all kinds
of acoustic music. Bluegrass, newgrass, stained glass, folk,
folk-rock, progressive, old country, new country, roots, blues, jazzy,

[dcab-l] jams this week in Brunswick, MD

We have two jams this week. First is Thu night, the 7th, from 6:30-9 PM. Second is on Sun afternoon, the 10th, from 3-6 PM. We are at Beans in the Belfry as always, which is at 122 W Potomac St, Brunswick, MD. Beans is a great little coffee shop with a full assortment of refreshments including adult beverages and light fare if you're hungry. There's no cover. Format is open circle and there is seating though a few players elect to stand.
