Found this photo from 1949 online while doing some genealogical research this evening. The “Jefferson Restaurant” in this photo is the present day J.V. Restaurant … quite a bit of local bluegrass in there over the years! The Jefferson Theatre, at which I watched many movies growing up, is long gone and is now a Baskin Robbins. Annandale Road, which would be to the right, looks like it’s either under construction or non-existent.
