Re: [dcab-l] Re: Instruments for sale
bargain, or I'll make a bid to try to get a bargain. There is also a
bunch of mid range and high end stuff on there, too.
Some of it is posted over and over by the same couple of local
"home-based" dealers who are looking for near retail pricing and won't
budge much. Their listing recur for weeks, or months, for the same
piece.
People looking to clear out the clutter or that have to sell soon are
quite negotiable. Especially if you know that it has been listed for a
while.
To really move a mid to high end guitar, a lot of it is about price.
If it is near the current "market price" for a used piece, then expect
to sit on it for a while until you find the right buyer who has to
have it.
If you want to move the piece, then put a "can't resist" price on it
and you will get the lurkers who know their bargains coming out of
the woodwork. They'll have cash and be ready to buy, if the price is
right..

If you or she can furnish any details about condition, year of manufacture, etc. I can hunt around and find some comparable prices.

[dcab-l] 2nd notice: House Party - Mark Schatz solo show - Sunday, Nov. 10 4 & 7pm
No need to reply if you can't join us, but we hope you will.
| House Party Mark SchatzSunday, Nov 10th, 2019 | |
| Here at the Abbey, we are thrilled to have the opportunity to host two solo performances by the award-winning Mark Schatz. Mark is best known as a bass player but is a multi-talented banjo player, dancer, songwriter, story teller and all-around entertainer. He has played all over the country with a virtual Who's Who of musicans. He's going to be presenting a solo performance showcasing a variety of skills and this is a party you certainly won't want to miss. As an added bonus, the next day is a holiday for many of us (Veteran's Day) and so it doesn't even count as a school night. Twice named International Bluegrass Music Association's Bass Player of the Year, Mark Schatz has toured and recorded with a stellar array of artists including Bela Fleck, Tony Rice, John Hartford, Tim and Mollie O'Brien, acoustic innovators Nickel Creek, The Claire Lynch Band, and Sarah Jarosz. Mark is the Musical Director for internationally acclaimed Footworks Percussive Dance Ensemble which showcases other talents such as clawhammer banjo and Southern Appalachian clog dancing. This versatile multi-instrumentalist has two of his own solo recordings, Brand New Old Tyme Way and Steppin' in the Boiler House on Rounder Records, which feature his own eclectic blend of original compositions on the banjo. Mark is currently freelancing which includes touring, recording, instructional camps, and private instruction. So come join us for a house party with Grammy award-winning acoustic bassist, Mark Schatz, who also delights with his flawless clawhammer banjo-playing. His solo venture will feature his original tunes and songs, punctuated by Southern Appalachian clogging, hambone, and stories of life on the road. It promises to be an entertaining and toe-tapping experience. Here's a sample of Mark's talent live - https://youtu.be/rhrfLMiCT3I | |
