[YEP-DC] Join our YEP-DC Leadership Team, Applications due 5/3
YEP-DC has 2 open positions. We are now accepting applications for these positions. The due date for the position is May 3rd, 2017.
- Vice President of Development and Partnerships
- Mentorship Program Chair
Vice President of Development and Partnerships
Specific responsibilities for this position include:
- Being an involved member of the YEP-DC Executive Board who is engaged in YEP-DC's central planning
- With VP of Finance & Operations, developing annual development strategy with a goal of ensuring YEP-DC's events are co-sponsored and/or under-written, as needed
- Researching potential funders and partners
- Seeking out funders and/or for both general support and for support of specific activities/events (e.g., grants, major gifts, in-kind donations)
- Cultivating and coordinating relationships with potential and existing funders and partners
- With VP of Communications & Marketing, identifying and creating relevant development materials (e.g., case statements, brochure(s), etc.)
- Supporting the annual plan and annual survey process
- With President, being point of contact for organizations looking to partner with YEP-DC
- Overseeing Development Chair and Grants Chair
20-30 hours per month (includes 3-hour monthly meeting and 3-hour monthly event; note that monthly meetings are hosted by Executive Board members on a rotating basis)
Experience/Skills/Abilities:
- Fundraising and Development experience preferred
- Team player, with the confidence to take the lead and guide other volunteers when needed
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Ability to effectively communicate information and ideas in written and verbal format, and build and maintain relationships

- Plan, schedule, and execute YEP-DC's Mentorship program, which consists of 2 cohorts per year: each with a 6 month duration, and monthly in person meetings scheduled by the chair
- Recruit Volunteers to work on planning and execution committees, as needed
- Develop mentor packet of key information needed for a successful mentor/mentee relationship
- Adjust the agendas of events to the interests of cohort as communicated through member and event surveys
- Update and maintain the mentor application process and spreadsheet.
- Develop, administer, and analyze mentor & mentee surveys
- Coordinate with other chairpersons and YEP Leadership Team members as needed.
- Additional duties as assigned by the Vice President of Programming, Professional and Career Development
Experience/Skills/Abilities:
- Event planning experience (preferred)
- Team player, with the confidence to take the lead and guide other volunteers when needed
- Strong project management and organizational skills

In the landscape of new administrations, both locally and nationally, YEP-DC is more excited than ever to announce the 5th annual Policy to Practice Conference. We feel especially well-poised to serve as a space for our community of practitioners, education leaders, and advocates to process the change and spring into action with this year's conference: "Catalyzing Change from the Bottom Up," to be held on Saturday, May 6th, 2017, kicking off Teacher Appreciation Week.
Over the past four Policy to Practice Conferences, over 1,000 young education professionals and more than 50 organizations have convened to engage across policy, practice, and research. This year's conference will feature sessions for each of those stakeholder groups, designed to foster robust and directed discussions resulting in potential solutions, recommendations, and strategies for impacting change.

Bought a package of these on Amazon. The price was low for a multi-pack, but I can't use all these cartridges before they dry up. Amazon description:

In the landscape of new administrations, both locally and nationally, YEP-DC is more excited than ever to announce the 5th annual Policy to Practice Conference. We feel especially well-poised to serve as a space for our community of practitioners, education leaders, and advocates to process the change and spring into action with this year's conference: "Catalyzing Change from the Bottom Up," to be held on Saturday, May 6th, 2017, following Teacher Appreciation Week. The day will be hosted at KIPP DC College Preparatory in northeast Washington, DC. The conference will run from 8am-3pm and will be inclusive of a keynote, 3 sessions, a lunchtime panel and opportunity fair, and a closing community awards presentation.
